#TrailerTalk – The vibe of ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’ is refreshing and modern with a bit of Déjà vu

The much awaited trailer of Jawaani Jaaneman is creating a huge buzz and it pans out exactly like the lyrics of the original song from film Namak Halaal [1982].

Still from Jawaani Jaaneman

Few minutes into the trailer you may feel a bit of Déjà vu:

  • Saif Ali Khan’s character of a party animal looking for hook-ups seems an extension of his character ‘Gautam’ from Cocktail [2012]. It also has a sprinkle of ‘Jai’ from Love Aaj Kal [2009], who doesn’t believe in marriage.
  • The synopsis feels like the 1998 film Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, where the character of ‘Kabir’ (played by Aditya Narayan) is now older Gen Z-version played by Alaya Furniturewala.

Watch the trailer here and tell us if you felt the same:

The instant vibe of the film is refreshing, modern and an entertainer starring actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Farida Jalal, Kubbra Sait, Kiku Sharda and debutant Alaya Furniturewala.

PS. A special shout-out to the makers for recreating the 90’s classic “Ole Ole” with its original star – a song that needed a comeback at parties in the new decade!

Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Jawaani Jaaneman releases on 31st January 2020.

Rating Prediction[4 / 5]

Founder of Popcorn Pixel, I was born and raised in Kuwait, but I never let geography come in the way of my love for Bollywood. I love films as well as the whole process of filmmaking and entertainment, which is why I started Popcorn Pixel in 2018 with the aim to bring together cinema-enthusiasts like me. Besides films, I love to write fiction, try new cuisines and dream about learning skydiving and horse-riding (hopefully I'll get around to it someday) !!
